A Little About Me
My favorite question is “why?”
It's a question that takes you deeper. It requires you to listen. To not just look, but to see. I care about that difference.
Good design is effective communication. And to communicate something well, you first have to understand it. That means paying attention and asking why.

I like working with people who have opinions about what they're making. I enjoy hearing how they arrived at an idea, what matters most to them, and what they might be seeing that I haven't considered. I bring my own ideas and experience to those conversations, and I appreciate having people to exchange ideas with.
I've worked independently for much of my career, and there's a lot I've valued about it. But I'd like to be part of a team again. I miss the everyday exchange of ideas, learning from people with different expertise, and having something we're all working toward together.
How I think
Creativity doesn't disappear when you add constraints.
Some of my favorite solutions have come from working within limitations. A tight deadline, a technical restriction, or two requirements that seem impossible to reconcile can force you to look at a problem from an entirely different angle.
I try to understand what matters before deciding what to do. That means:
- Listening carefully to understand what someone needs, not just what they're asking for.
- Asking questions that uncover missing information, competing priorities, or problems that aren't immediately obvious.
- Being willing to reconsider an idea when new information changes the picture.
Capabilities
A few different disciplines. A lot of shared skills.
Working across design, web development, and client projects has given me a pretty varied toolkit. I bring creative thinking, practical technical experience, and an understanding of what it takes to move a project from an idea to something people can use.
01 / CAPABILITY
Visual Design & Identity
I develop visual concepts and identities, working with typography, composition, and imagery to create designs that communicate clearly and feel cohesive.
Examples: Brand identities, logos, illustration, layout, print design, and digital graphics.
02 / CAPABILITY
Web Design & Development
I design and build responsive websites, combining visual design with the technical work needed to make them function across devices and platforms.
Examples: HTML/CSS, CMS administration, responsive design, website development, and troubleshooting.
03 / CAPABILITY
Collaboration & Delivery
I work directly with clients to understand their goals, present ideas, incorporate feedback, and prepare finished work for its intended use.
Examples: Client discovery, design presentations, project coordination, print preparation, brand guidelines, and final asset handoff.
The Working Diagram
A visual language for the way I work.
The Working Diagram is a set of nine marks I've developed to represent different parts of the creative process. Each one stands for something I return to as a project takes shape: ambiguity, focus, exploration, constraints, decision, organization, implementation, integration, and resolution.
They're not a prescribed sequence or a set of steps to follow. Depending on the project, I might revisit an earlier idea, uncover a new constraint, or find that one decision changes everything that comes after it.
The marks stay the same. The relationships between them change.
- Ambiguity
- Focus
- Exploration
- Constraints
- Decision
- Organization
- Implementation
- Integration
- Resolution

Have something in mind? Let's talk.
I'm looking to join a team where I can contribute my design experience, collaborate with others, and keep learning. If you think I'd be a good fit, I'd love to hear from you.
